Your Cats Eating Habits

The cats’ natural diet consists of prey. Its teeth are geared towards the consumption and digestion of insects, small rodents, birds, amphibians and fish. Cats do eat some plants but they need nutrients that can only be found in animal tissue. Therefore, meat must be part of the cats’ diet.

Nutrients give energy and help the cat build and replace tissue. If they are not provided in the right amount they will not maintain a normal healthy life. Nutritional requirements vary at different stages of the cats’ life, that’s why there is food available on the market for each stage. People believe if you feed a cat well it will not bring prey in to the house; this is not true. A cat does not have to be hungry to hunt; the healthier it is the better hunter it will be.
